Open Letter To Senator Magnus Abe By Chigonum Ezihuo Justice

Dear Senator Magnus Abe,

I read, this morning, from the wall of my friends who are your supporters the piece you authored concerning your visit to the reception of a colleague, Senator Ideozu.

You raised a few issues that require response from some of us your admirers and fellow party men.
Firstly Sir, I haven't read where anybody insulted you simply on account of your visit to Senator Ideozu, what I had seen however, are opinions on the events that transpired at the reception. Sir, by your piece, you painted a picture of yourself as a man who abhors enmity, who seeks reconciliation and who would rejoice with those that are rejoicing. On the strength of these, let me take you memory lane Sir.
Recently, your brother, associate and friend from your LGA & community, Chief Victor Giadom was made the Deputy National Secretary of our party, the APC, one expected that in the spirit of rejoicing with those who are rejoicing, you would be the first person to extend congratulatory message to him, sadly, till this very  moment, we have not read a piece of such  congratulatory message from you nor a solidarity visit to celebrate with him.

Recently too, another of your brothers, Hon.Oji Ngofa was made an Ambassador and was publicly celebrated in PH by people from both far and near, again, I expected you to extend message of felicitation to him, but sadly, you failed to attend that occasion even when an invitation was duly extended to you.

More so, your boss or former boss as the case maybe, Rt.Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was recently celebrated in PH on occasion of his birthday, typical of your new posture, you refused to attend even though you were in the country and the Senate had no plenary on the days these events held. You also did not send ordinary congratulatory message to any of the three persons mentioned, at least, not publicly.

I therefore wish to ask, is it a coincidence that you did not attend any of the three events or is your forgiving spirit selective to only those in other parties ?

Also recently, you publicly acknowledged that you approved of a visit of some of your supporters to Government House to commend Governor Nyesom Wike. In the speech delivered by your ally, Hon. Barry Mpigi, he commended the Governor for doing excellently well and urged him to continue. If I recall the events of the recent past, you accused Solomon Ndigbara of being responsible for all the killings that took place in Ogoni land during your campaigns, you also insinuated that Ndigbara was sponsored by the Rivers State Government headed by Governor Wike, I wish to know Sir, does the "urging to do more" include destruction of more lives and properties in Ogoni ?

Distinguished Senator, nobody is angry that you visited friends and colleagues, rather, some of us are worried that you are clearly insensitive to the losses suffered by people who either lost lives or properties in pursuit of your ambition. Now that you are reconciling with those who caused the respective families pains, how do you expect them to handle the psychological impacts that follow?

Do we assume that they were stupid to have stuck their necks the way they did for you or that their fathers did not teach them forgiveness and reconciliation as your own father taught you?

Finally Distinguished Senator, since your election to the Senate, you have not visited families of Dr.Vincent Eebe, the Polytechnic lecturer that was murdered for your sake, you have also not visited families of Charles Etukor whom you were sending to mediate between yourself and Solomon Ndigbara who was also killed in the course of your campaign.

Aside the paltry 100k you sent to support his burial, you have neither bothered to visit or call the poor widow who has four(4) children to take care of ever since. Sir, the family till this moment is waiting for you to either take their calls or return same. We sincerely hope that you shall extend the values taught you by your father to persons who made contributions to make you the man you are today.

Thank you.
