Rivers APC Excos led by the State Chairman Chief Davies Ikanya, today visited Gokana and Oyigbo LGA respectively for the ongoing sensitization exercise .
In Gokana, Hon. Second Bakor the Gokana LGA party Chairman, welcomed the State Chairman, Rivers APC and the State Party Executives to Gokana
In his remarks, Gokana is the home based of APC and the wish of the LGA is for APC to retain the Bricks house come 2019
Chief Davis Ibiamu IKanya, State Chairman, APC Rivers thanked the people of Gokana onbehalf of the Hon Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and other party Leadership
According to the state Chairman, registration of the party is ongoing and that LGA Excos should have it as a duty to convince people into the party
By directives of the National Party, ongoing registration of the party ends on the 25th of Jan 2018
Chief Ikanya adviced against disunity of the party and that the LGA Excos should take charge, there should be unity amongst the Executives
Factions amongst party members shouldn't exist
The Excos should also work with the Leaders of the LGA
Chairman also stated about an existence of the internal dispute Resolution of the party
Internal issues of the party shouldn't be taken to the media, if found guilty, disciplinary actions will be taken
Any NGO running against the constitution of the party will be disbanded
The meeting ended successfully and with the closing Remarks done by Hon Innocent Barikor, Member, Rivers State House of Assembly, Gokana Constituency
Hon Kadilo Kabari, former CTC Chairman, Gokana LGA led the closing prayers.
In Oyigbo LGA Rivers APC Excos paid condolence visit to the family of late Hon Sunday onyebuche Nwanwko one of the stakeholders ward in 4 oyigbo LGA. After which they proceeded to the venue . At the venue after opening prayers were said, the LGA Party Chairman thanked the State leadership for finding time to visit them .
While speaking Chief Ikanya the state Chairman thanked the LGA officers for steadfastness and promised better days ahead, he also pleaded that interests be put aside for the good of the Party, and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to achieve success. According to him "any Exco that doesn't allow people to join their wards and units is a bad Exco, and any bad Exco that doesn't change, we will change them.
After questions were entertained and addressed closing prayer was taken. The Party Chairman also received over 500 decampees from PDP, who said there had seen the light in APC and are willing to work with the party. The event ended with closing prayer.
