Barr Nyesome Wike : Governor Of Rivers State |
Rivers APC New Media Team ( RANMT) has accused the Governor of Rivers State Barr Nyesome Wike of been gripped by fear and panicking over result of the just concluded Ekiti State Governorship Election statement released by the group's reads :
"With the pity-me, am-being-oppressed-by-FG strategy of the Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose falling flat during last Saturdays governorship election, his Rivers counterpart, Nyesom Wike has dumped similar strategy.
After failing to create any meaningful employment in the last three years, Wike few days ago gathered some few youth in Government House, where he was said to have unveiled empowerment support for each unit in the state.
A source at the meeting disclosed that many of the youth were unhappy that it has taken the governor more than three years to realise that they were important and deserve to benefit from a government they supported.
They particularly queried the rationale behind the sudden meeting, saying it is not unconnected with the forthcoming general election.
The governor was said to have apologized for his inability to perform before now and promised to release 'something' to assuage their feelings.
According to the source, the governor plans to recruit persons per unit depending on voting strength and acceptability.
It was learnt that Governor Wike specifically drew their attention to the outcome of events in Ekiti and was quoted as saying 'Rivers is not Ekiti and will never be."
"It is obvious that the governor is taking us for granted. Why wait till this time to call us, after now, he will abandon us again. Only a very few people in his government are benefiting from our commonwealth, this is not good and we have serious doubt that he will take us serious if he is re-elected” our source from one of the Ikwerre-speaking LGAs enthused.
Already, sharing of the slots has begun on per units basis. They will only collect their fair share for their services to Wike in 2015 and look the other way knowing that he does not have a second chance in 2019".
