..Calls On The Rivers State Government and Private Organizations to support the Wounded.
The Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Hon Marshall Israel in emotion ridden interview with men of the press on a visit to site of the collapsed building in Port Harcourt yesterday eulogised members of the public for spontaneously racing to the site for search and rescue without minding the dangers of rubble and dust on their health. He equally applauded the rescue and emergency team of National Emergency management Agency (NEMA) that eventually came and tasked them to put every resource in their possession to use until everyone is accounted for.

According to statement released by his Media Aide Mr Godspower Amafule the Commisioner said : "I commend the spirited efforts of NEMA and everyone who came to contribute and support the ongoing Search and rescue operation in the Collapsed building. It's a glaring demonstration of the love we have for each other because injury to one is injury to all".
"The next line of action is to find out the immediate and remote cause of the incident and prevent reoccurrence, and this is entirely the responsibility of the Rivers State Government in collaboration with other regulatory agencies".
On the other hand, Commissioner Israel berated the dearth of public institutions in the State. "This is a man made catastrophe, if the people charged with approval and supervision of building sites were doing their job as expected of them, this sorrow and lamentation could have been avoided in the State. It is appalling that structures are cropping-up on daily basis but all the government does is to append signature and stamp hence payment and revenue is paid. It is regrettable and grossly unfortunate. It is too bad!"
"We are leaders in our various rights. Therefore, it is incumbent that we abhor negligence but deliver in our obligations. it's through our righteous contribution in various quarters that the society at large can be transformed to the delight of all and the Rivers State of our dream would become a reality".
The People's Commissioner also call on Rivers State Government, Private Organizations and concerned individuals to visit and support the wounded and traumatized. "The wounded and the traumatized in the hospital must not be abandoned. I call on Rivers State Government to foot their bills and monitor their gradual recovery. Private Organizations, Churches and concerned individuals should also visit and support the wounded and traumatized in the hospital. All hands must be on deck".
