Its Been One Year Since Our Father High Chief (Dr) O. B Lulu-Briggs Passed On; We Are Set To Give Him A Beffiting Burial - Barr Dumo Lulu-Briggs

Chief Barr Dumo Lulu-Briggs has hinted that he and his family intends to give their late Father a befitting burial, this is following the ruling of Ghanaian High Court which ordered that the corpse of Late Chief O.B should immediately be released by his wife, Mrs Seinye Lulu-Briggs to the children. In his words :

"Today makes it exactly one year of the passing of our dearly departed father, High Chief (Dr) O. B. Lulu-Briggs, OON, DCF, DSSRS. Following the ruling of the Ghana High Court on Monday, 23rd of December, 2019, that the custody of the mortal remains of our deceased father and husband rest with his family who in this instant case are his children and ordered that the corpus should immediately be released by his wife, Mrs Seinye Lulu-Briggs to the children, led by Chief Dumo O. B. Lulu-Briggs, we the Children, grand and great grand children of our beloved father, High Chief (Dr) O. B. Lulu-Briggs are happy our right to the mortal remains of our father and to convey same to Nigeria has now been conclusively determined. We are even more excited by the assurances given by our stepmother, Mrs Seinye Lulu-Briggs in her statement published in the Cable Online on the 26th of December, 2019 accepting the ruling of the High Court of Ghana and that our father's ultimate wish that his family will continue strong even after his death, has been fulfilled.

To foster family unity and peace, I, Chief Dumo O. B. Lulu-Briggs, Chief and head of the O. B. Lulu-Briggs Family and the Chief Mourner, have invited all my siblings and our stepmother to an urgent family meeting to discuss family matters and the funeral and burial plans of our father, today, Friday, 27th December, 2019 at 11am, at the family house, Onubio, Briggs Compound, Abonnema.

The meeting is also very symbolic, being the one year anniversary of our father's passing. I hope that the family can prayerfully begin to heal despite the pending legal issues and the ongoing police investigations in Nigeria and Ghana of the circumstances surrounding the death of our father and husband. It is expected that we will discuss all Family matters including how to immediately convey the mortal remains of our dearly departed father to Nigeria and to give him a befitting burial. The Chiefs of the Oruwari/Briggs War Canoe House of Abonnema have graciously agreed to join a delegation of the family of our father led by me to Accra, Ghana to herald the home coming of father's mortal remains to Nigeria.

I shall formerly announce, after our family meeting and after I have conferred with the Chiefs of the Oruwari Briggs War Canoe House of Abonnema, and the larger families of our father, the dates and activities for the funeral and burial of our highly revered father, husband, Statesman and Philanthropist, High Chief (Dr) O. B. Lulu-Briggs, OON.

We take the opportunity of this medium to thank the Nigerian public for their understanding, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for his interventions, concern and counsel, the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, His Serene Majesty, Prof TJT Princewill for his majestic pronouncements and Pastor David Ibiyeomie for his prayers and intercession and all our prayer warriors and well wishers.

Dad, today makes it a year since you left us; it's been a tough time without you but we take solace in the fact that you left a rich harvest of memories to cherish, honor and emulate. We are determined to sustain and continue your good legacies.

God keep us. "
