Why Hate 'Us' But Prefers 'You'?
My loyalty to the party and concern has moved me to also cry out through this open letter to you Hon. Igo Aguma as a party faithful and youth who have benefitted nothing from the party whose structure you and others who have been beneficiaries from day one now want to collapse not minding whether the rest of us suffer or not as far as it will further be of your own benefit, shattering our hope of better tomorrow.
I read your letter and got demoralised over what any member of the party would have wished will be for the interest of all, it merely focused on personal gains and aggrandisement. Rather than thinking of 'us', you were after 'you', 'you' and 'you'
Its about you, what should be done for you and how you should be looked into. For you, what happens to the youths and rest of us doesn't concern you as far as the national stops focusing on two arrow heads and recognize for patronage those you referred to as "Ex Governors, Former Senators, Former House of Representatives members, Former speakers and members of the state assembly and very senior citizens and opinion leaders in Rivers State in the party."
For you, outside those who fell into the categories you listed which you are among, the rest of us can go and retire, it doesn't matter as far as you are not in the category of those retiring. Again, that is very sad and demoralizing.
Sir, you made five requests in your letter. It is very sad and disheartening that not even one captured the suffering youths and masses who neither have seen mere empowerment program for years as reward for their steadfastness from onset nor appointment/office to help make a living like many of you currently enjoy with your family alone.
This has reminded me of same act you displayed to many of us the youths when we attended your last birthday celebration at Presidential Hotel, when you left your seat as celebrant and rushed down to the food stand to chase away all of us who were already lining up to eat after much hours in the event, took our plates from us and closed the long buffet for only God knows why even as you allowed maybe same category of persons you listed above to eat as many times they desire.
Is it that you naturally hate the youths and do not wish they get to the level of also becoming contractors, commissioners, House of Representatives members, etc, like you have become? Why the 'you' instead of 'us'?
You made mention of haven labored for the party, remember you did it with security, got hold of election funds and other benefits accrued to it at the end while most of us the youths did even more without security, fund nor reward till date.
You condemned the act that the National Secretariat views the APC in Rivers State as if it has two members in the person of Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and Ex-Lawmaker, Senator Magnus Abe. It's unfortunate you are also viewing the party as if it exist only with the categories of persons you listed as stated above.
You described the party as being left in limbo through protracted unnecessary litigation prior to the elections, same step you have now chosen. Are you after destroying the party or holding back the future of youths and the masses in the party?
Two wrongs cannot make a right. While you wrongly seek for the 'You' also think of the 'US'.
Just as you are angry with the two, far more than two are very angry with you as it stands now. The youths may not forgive you if you don't see the need to peddle down and think of Us.
After all, you are among the decision makers of the party that rightly or wrongly made the decisions that took us to where we are today.
Maybe the youths will need to rise up and say enough is enough in Rivers State APC rather than folding our hands to watch
Yours Sincerely,
Dandy Loveday,
From EMOLGA
