Sequel to the slight changes effected in the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, by the President, Muhammadu Buhari, the new appointees have been formally inaugurated with Hon Onari Brown taking over from Dr. Sokonte Davies as the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, EDM&O.



The handover ceremony which was brief was slated for 10am on Monday, March 8th, 2020, witnessed by top management officials in the Department.


The immediate past ED M&O, Sokonte Davies in presence of senior Directors and Staff, performed the formal handing and taking over in his office.

 While making his speech, Dr. Sokonte Davies thanked God who led him within the past 4 years to exercise his functions without any scandals to also guide his successor and brother, Hon. Onari Brown.
He said "I am very confident that Onari will do well, continuing from were I stopped".

Responding, the new Executive Director promised to improve on the achievements of his predecessor. He dedicated his appointment to God.

At the end of the session, Dr. Sokonte took Hon. Onari on a round to meet with other members of Staff of the Agency, after which the new ED M&O attended the Agency's Christian fellowship to commit his new office into God's hand.

Recall that Onari Brown was a two time Lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly where he discharged his duties creditably. He also served in the APC Presidential Campaign Organization during the last elections.
