Barr Somiari Ogolo has responded to Mr Kennedy Friday over a Press Statement he released Monday, 22 June 2020. In his words :
Dear Kennedy Friday,
In trying to understand your epistle, laced with deliberate insult to a man capable of giving birth to you and training you up to any level of your choice and setting you up to be personally useful.
You went on without providing the needed facts to help your piece.
1. You alleged that the meeting of “19th June had a quorum of more than 18 members and one member short of the 20 recorded in the first meeting” without disclosing names of these 18-20 members that attended as Senator Andrew Uchendu did in their Press Release. One is tempted to ask if these persons were manufactured from outside the statutory members of the Party.
2. According to the Press Statement released by Senator Andrew Uchendu, 28 persons are on their side and 12 persons are on the side of Hon. Igo Aguma. If this is incontrovertible, which has not been, it means that the required 2/3 majority was not met at the so-called Zoom meeting held by Hon. Igo Aguma.
3. Let us even assume that personal messages were sent to these persons and they refused to participate, as long as quorum was not met, anything done will be null and void.
What was therefore necessary than grandstanding was putting forward, list of names of those who participated in the Zoom meeting and what qualified them as statutory members to authenticate your claim on quorum.
4. Senator Andrew Uchendu had said that they held a zoom meeting to connect with their members who were resident outside Rivers State and went ahead to list the names of the persons that participated, we are yet to hear any refutal from any of the names they listed, which therefore confirms their claim as true.
5. Going by the above facts, it therefore means that the nomination of Worgu Boms Esq, was faulty and illegal. In any case, it also confirms that the Interim Order that empowered Chief Victor Giadom to act as Acting National Chairman of APC was not even sighted by Hon. Igo Aguma and his co-travelers, else they would have seen that the discussion or act of contemplating his change was in violation of Order 2 of that Interim Order of the court and that they were all liable for contempt personally and severally.
Finally, let me advise that you counsel Hon. Igo Aguma and all those beating the war drums to seek peace. It is priceless and learn to write Press releases without throwing tantrums.
