RIVLEAF Congratulates Chief Victor Giadom, Sokonte Davies As Acting National APC Chairman And CTC Chairman of Rivers APC Respectively

... Advices President Buhari to save the party from collapse

Chief Giadom& Hon Sokonte

A top Political organization in Port Harcourt has congratulated Chief Victor Giadom and Hon Sokonte Davies over their elevation as National and State Chairmen of All Progressives Congress (APC) . Statement released by Chief Alex Wele who is National President, RIVLEAF reads :

"With sincere concerns on the recent happenings in our great party, the APC, both at the National and State levels, we believe the best hands and brains, in the persons of Chief Victor Giadom and Dr Sekonte Davies, have been called to duty to salvage and strengthen our party from stunted growth and barriers arising from greed, selfishness and lack of leadership by its former handlers.

No doubt, the call to duty is challenging, but we trust in your firm and unwavering stability and courage to be able to settle and address all nagging issues weighing down the party and factor an assurance to the teeming members, of your desire to pursue and achieve a peaceful, united, progressive and structurally organised politcal party at the Federal and State levels.

We note that APC is a National Party and as such should not be reduced to a tribal or sectional Party of some individuals. We therefore encourage you both to reach out to all and sundry in order to bring about a united Party capable of taking Nigeria to the next level.

At the State level, we commend Senator Andrew Uchendu and the 26 Court recognised statutory caretaker members for rising to the occassion at the right time, to rescue the party from the hands of external predators and restore the party to normalcy by enthroning Dr Sekonte Davies as Chairman.

With a sense of nolstalgia, we use this opportunity to advise that Judicial officers, particularly in Rivers State, should be mindful of the image and reputation they create for themselves, the Judiciary and the State. They should be guided guided by good conscience in the discharge of their duties in the temple of Justice by ensuring that Judicial pronouncements, orders and injunctions serve the best interest of Justice to all concerned.

We stand by the lawful Acting National Chairman of APC, Chief Victor Giadom and urge him to remain steadfast, courageous and focused despite distractions from those who do not mean well for the party's stability and progress.

We call on Party leaders at the National level to put the interest of the party and country above their personal interest by allowing the rule of law and internal democracy to strive in the party,as we warn that the race for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023 must not be a matter of life and death for any individual.

We place on record that there could not have been a party called the APC without the coming together of the vocal ACN group, the grassroot structured and masses oriented CPC group, the articulate, calculative, experienced and master strategists group, the nPDP, as well as the ANPP and the APGA supporting groups, meaning that no one person or individual could lay claim to the ownership of the party.

We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for his non political interference policy on party matters but respectfully remind him that no president is elected into office without a political party. We are worried and concerned that Mr President's silence over time may have done great damage to the progress of the party hence our Clarion and patriotic call on Mr President to assume his leadership role and rescue the party from imminent collapse bearing in mind that in every democracy, the President is the leader of his Political Party".
