RE: Posting Of CP On Patronage, Incompetence Worsens Insecurity ~ Gov. Wike

The PEOPLE'S SERVANT and Chief Medical Director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof. Henry Ugboma has berated Gov. Wike over the comment credited to him that POSTING OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS ARE ON PATRONAGE, INCOMPETENCE WORSENS INSECURITY.

The PEOPLE'S SERVANT who addressed pressmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, shortly after he arrived at the airport, said that the posting of Commissioners of Police is the prerogative of the Inspector General of Police, just like the appointment of commissioners for works, health, Agriculture, etc by the Governor of a State.

"Why is Gov. Wike bordered about the posting of a Commissioner of Police, leaving the running of the affairs of the State. Instead of developing Rivers State with the #78B refund of the money owed Rivers State by Federal Government, Wike is busy running from pillar to post looking for whom to blackmail and make scurrilous remark. Rivers people are really ashamed that Wike have abandoned them to their fate"... Prof. Ugboma stated.

The Leader of Orashi Region further said, that Wike's fear is what he did when the Hon. Minister for Transportation was the Governor of Rivers State wherein, Wike who was then Minister of state for Education, took over the affairs of the security of the state through the help of the most compromised Police Commissioner named Joseph Mbu. It is on record, that all the security officers posted to Rivers State has always paid official visit to Wike as Minister after paying official visit to the then Governor against protocol. This unusual protocol, has only happened in Rivers State during Wike's reign as Minister and has not happened since Wike became Governor of Rivers State.

"I am advising Wike not to be afraid. Right thinking Rivers people does not behave like him, who his over ambitiousness led to the death of many Rivers sons and daughters, yet he never regrets his actions and succession to power. Nobody is ready to retaliate what he did to others. Let him concentrate to see how he can govern Rivers State by paying the approved minimum wage, pay pensioners, promote civil servants, employ Rivers People, award scholarships and pay Rivers Students their bursaries"... Prof Ugboma further stated.

The Chief Medical Director of UPTH, urge Rivers people to disregard Wike and his antics as his stock in trade is publiy known, as nobody is happy having Wike as the head of affairs in Rivers State.

It is very unfortunate, that Wike will pretend to have the people at heart and yet, he ordered his Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to get ready to file action against the Federal Government for any attempt to withdraw money from the Excess Crude Account to fight insecurity as approved by all the governors of the States.

The PEOPLE'S SERVANT, Prof. Ugboma congratulate the Inspector General of Police for the extension of his tenure and the new Commissioner of Police in Rivers State for his posting to our dear state. Prof. Ugboma assured the new Commissioner of Police of the cooperation of Rivers people and charge him not to be discouraged with the unguarded statement of Wike who have abandoned Rivers State.

The Professor of Medicine also advised the newly posted Commissioner of Police to be very cautious in dealing with Gov. Wike who does not keep to his word and also wish to informed him that almost all the security officers who worked with Wike before he became the Governor has been abandoned and neglected.
