Green Light Development Ambassadors Initiative (GLI)  Condemns Attempts To Smear Image Of Dame Judith Amaechi

Green Light Development Ambassadors Initiative (GLI)  has condemned  attempts to smear image of Dame Judith Amaechi who is the wife of the honorable Minister of Transportation, saying that records shouldn't be arm twisted. Speaking to News men today the Chairman of the Group Hon Barr. Henry Odili  in a press release said :

"The Green Light Development Ambassadors Initiative (GLI) has noted with concern an ongoing sustained attempts by devious persons to smear the impeccable image of the wife of our Leader and Minister of Transportation, Dame Judith Amaechi, over Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) contracts. We also note that Dame Judith Amaechi, through his pet project – The Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) – has comprehensively debunked the manifestly insidious narrative and campaign of calumny with facts and figures.

However, GLI believes that the smear campaign against Dame Judith Amaechi, is the least, undeserving and must be condemned by all people of goodwill and decent conscience. Never has politics been taken to its present abysmal low as we are seeing today.

Many are witnesses that the projects and programmes conceptualised and promoted by Dame Judith Amaechi through ESI are impacting on the lives of the young and old in Rivers State. They have won the acclaim of individuals and corporate entities such that no one should be surprised if ESI is robustly supported by well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations. 

It would be the height of wickedness and disservice to humanity for dishonourable minds to contrive and execute a dangerous campaign to discredit a laudable organisation and its compassionate and hardworking driver all in the name of exacting political pound of flesh for whatever reasons. We unreservedly condemn such wicked, anti-development behaviour with every strength we can muster. If you cannot support the ESI to expand and enhance its work in bringing physical and human capital development to our people, at least, leave the organisation and its founder, Dame Judith Amaechi, alone. ESI and Dame Amaechi should not be dragged into the murky waters that characterize our kind of politics.

DLI would like to encourage all individuals and organisations to discountenance the present campaign of calumny against the ESI and Dame Judith Amaechi and continue to support the NGO to expand and enhance its efforts to impact on Rivers people. Continuing to render moral and any other support to ESI would be a clear response to agents of darkness that their devious mission is, once again, dead on arrival.

More significantly, we must state that it is not lost on us that part of the reason for this calumnious media attack against Dame Judith Amaechi is a well calculated extension of the sustained dubious agenda being promoted by characters working in cahoots with Gov. Nyesom Wike to drag to the mud the name of the Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, especially in view of the towering national profile of the latter. We note that the governor of Rivers State and his acolytes have become more desperate in running down Amaechi before Nigerians as we inch towards 2023, in line with the confessed determination by the governor.

DLI calls on Rivers people and Nigerians to disregard the present efforts by adversaries who are raking up and throwing all manner of mud and falsehoods at Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi by attempting to criminalize an innocent organisation and its founder, Dame Judith Amaechi, on the altar of sinister politics."
