Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside (DG NIMASA )

Again, we are constrained to offer clarifications on the seeming resurgent media attacks on Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside, Director-General of NIMASA by an aide of the Senator Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Sen. Magnus Abe.


This time, the said aide laboured albeit, unsuccessfully to impugn on the un-impregnable integrity of Dr.Peterside in a futile effort at proving that the comment he(Dr.Peterside) made on a live Radio appearance to the extent that the Rivers APC Congress that produced the Ojukaye-led State Exco is not a subject of litigation before any Court of Law in Nigeria.

Let me remind us that APC Ward and LGA Congresses were conducted Nationwide including Rivers State on the 5th and 12th of May, 2018 by the Party.

However, a few aggrieved members petitioned the Party National Secretariat demanding cancellation of the Congresses because they were allegedly excluded from participating in the process. Equally too, unknown to the party, the supposed aggrieved members,without exhausting all internal mechanisms of resolution within the party as provided by the party Constitution, colluded with the PDP State Government to procure bizarre injunction restraining the party from holding an LGA Congress on the 12th of May. It is necessary to further remind that the process that led to the granting of the injunction had no legal representation from the Party, the entire process originated and ended as directed by Gov. Nyesom Wike, the PDP and their allies within the APC.

 On the combined effects of these two grounds, the Party National Secretariat yielded to the demands of the aggrieved people and canceled the Wards and LGA Congresses of 5th and 12th May.

New dates of 19th, 20th and 21st May were scheduled for the new Congresses which now produced the present duly elected party structures.

Even more surprising was that the same set of aggrieved persons, clearly acting the script of their PDP masters approached the same Court which on the 30th of May,surprisingly gave a ruling on a matter not before it


From the foregoing, it is unambiguously clear that the Rivers APC Congresses held on 19th, 20th and 21st of May, 2018 is not a subject of litigation before any Court in the country.

It is on the strength of this reality that Dr.Peterside made that assertion

Let me therefore, reiterate the unanswered challenge thrown by Dr. Peterside for anybody to show any Court processes specifically challenging the Congresses of the aforementioned dates.
