News reaching our desks reveals that a former House of Representatives Candidate for Phalga Federal Constituency 2 in the 2015 general elections, Hon. Collins Owhonda, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared he will not contest any elections in 2019. Though the reasons for his decision are still unknown but emerging facts indicate that his decision may not be unconnected to the preference of another candidate by the leadership.
You would recall that the candidate of the APC who contested the 2015 elections for the Rivers State House of Assembly, Phalga Constituency 3, Chief Chima Nnokam, had earlier stated that he will not recontest the position, for reasons yet to be made public.
Situation report reveals that new aspirants for both positions have emerged, however, Hon. Igo Chinda and Hon. Henry Anele Opara are the favourites to fly the flag of the APC for House of Representatives, Phalga Federal Constituency 2 and Rivers State House of Assembly, Phalga State Constituency 3, respectively.
