.. As PCC Commissioner Pays Courtesy call on the Zonal EFCC Director

The Federal Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission in Rivers State Hon. Marshall Israel and the Zonal Director and Management of Economic And Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) today signed a joint Communique against corruption in Portharcourt.

In an interactive session at the zonal office of EFCC, The two Federal Government agencies and their managements agreed to work together in the fight against corruption, administrative injustice and maladministration.

"I am here to introduce myself as the new Federal Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission and to commend your efforts and seek for areas we can work together. Though we investigate administrative injustice and maladministration, we also receive petitions against individuals and organisation but cases that concerns financial crimes will be referred  to you. We also want to be part of your programs and workshop. The level of corruption in the Civil Service is so alarming".

"Imagine a Director in the Civil Service whose salary is less than 400k monthly buying properties in London and Asia. Nigeria is going down on daily basis as a result of unabashed corruption. There is an urgent need for EFCC and ICPC to rise up and save Nigeria from imminent collapse. And of course the Public Complaints Commission is there to Compliment your effort".

"PCC has a holistic and all encompassing mandate and responsibility of investigating the actions and inaction of government, private organizations and companies that are registered under CAC including the agents and staff of those organizations who engages in administrative impunity.  In Rivers State, we are open to partnership and collaboration because we cannot successfully carry out our duties alone". The Commissioner said.

The Zonal Director and Head of Operations of EFCC Mr. Nnaghe Item(ACP) thanked the Honourable Federal Commissioner of PCC for the visit and assured him of his readiness and commitment to continue the fight against administrative injustice and corruption.

"I am happy to see a young man like you with so much passion and zeal for service and result. I have listened to your radio programs and I am impressed with what you are doing. You have given life to PCC in Rivers State. There is hope for Nigeria"

"When you travel out of Nigeria and see the level of advancement in the world, then you will appreciate the level of damage corruption has done to Nigeria. It has not been easy with us in EFCC but we cannot give up. We will continue to do our best in the fight against corruption and administrative injustice. Nigeria needs young men like you who can stand up and say enough is enough and I think I have a partner in you. Wherever and whenever you want us to come in, the EFCC will come in. I am going to keep in touch with you from today. I will involve you in our programs" Mr Item responded.

The two Federal government agencies further signed a joint communique against corruption and administrative injustice.
