KILLING OF INNOCENT POLICEWOMAN: THE TRAGEDY OF BRICK & MORTAR GOVERNANCE, SENIBO CHRIS FINEBONE (FORMER RIVERS APC PUBLICITY SECRETARY).
The killing of that policewoman reportedly by a stray bullet fired by a policeman attached to a task force team underscores our concern about the proliferation of task forces in Rivers State.
This should give a bird’s eye view or a pen picture of the crises that will happen at various border or boundary points in the State should the governor go ahead to set up border task force. Security agents are likely to refuse to be subjected to checks by these young men while criminal gangs will begin to mount illegal roadblocks to rob citizens across the State.
Let me say it again, the only wise thing to do is for the governor to continue to work with the security agencies to ensure the successful lockdown of the state borders to avoid needless waste of life like that of the innocent policewoman.
