HON. ABIMBOLA AYO-YUSUF RESUMES TODAY AS THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF THE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION.

HON. ABIMBOLA AYO-YUSUF RESUMES TODAY AS THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF THE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION.

On May 26, 2021, NASS Approves Appointment Of New Chief Commissioner For Public Complaints Commission, 37 Others.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan and The National Assembly (NASS), approved the appointment of Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf from Lagos State as the Chief Commissioner for the Public Complaint Commission.

Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf resumed today as the Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission and presided over the plenary at the Conference room of the Commission with thirty seven (37) Federal Commissioners representing various States in the Commission.

Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf was born and brought up in Lagos. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from University Of Lagos amongst other trainings and Certifications. He is happily married with Children.

He was Managing Director of Mellos Global Manor Ltd and Chairman/ Managing Director Fourtees Limited all in Lagos State. He recently served as the Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State in the Public Complaints Commission where he demonstrated leadership as evidenced by the number of Complaints the Commission received and resolved under him.

Hon. Bimbo as fondly called by his friends is a

result-oriented and Competent Ombudsman with a demonstrated Private and Public Sector experience, creative and innovative, skilled in mediation, proactive investigation, negotiation, public relation, advocacy, public Speaking and Outreaches with Managerial and administrative capacity. He is committed and emotionally stable. He has all it takes to coordinate the activities of Commissioners and drive the Public Complaints Commission. He will bring his experience and expertise to beer as The CHIEF OMBUDSMAN OF NIGERIA.

Bimbo is vibrant, and a team player. While consolidating on the existing legacies of his predecessor Hon. Chille Igbawua, Bimbo will reposition the Commission towards fulfilling her mandate and collaborate with relevant agencies in the fight against administrative injustice and Maladministration in Nigeria.

The Public Complaints Commission is the Nigeria aspect of the global ombudsman institution, established by the Federal Government to entertain from citizens and residents in Nigeria, complaints of injustice, corruption, unfair treatment and abuse. The PCC is the oldest anti corruption agency in Nigeria and serves as the machinery for the control of administrative excesses (non adherence to procedures or abuse of law).

Over the years, the  Public Complaints Commission has suffered from inadequate funding, lack of security, logistic, inadequate manpower development and lack of responsive collaboration with sister agencies. These challenges has affected the performance of the Commission.

The biggest problem the Commission has is the issue of visibility. This is a Commission that was established 45 years ago and looking at the comparative knowledge among Nigerians, it is very low because it is expected that by now the Commission should be known much more. Even agencies that were established several years later are much more known than the PCC. So the new Chief Ombudsman Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf has a duty now to make sure the Commission gets to the public to give people access to justice free of charge.
